If the Lord was trying to catch us out…

If He was saying to us: “So, you just came to me now - now that you are afraid?”

If He looked at us in this way, He would not be our Father.

We keep forgetting that the Lord is not a cruel judge, but a Loving Father, Who is looking for a reason to save us.

He’s looking for a reason to save us, 

So that our salvation isn’t solely based on His mercy, but so that it’s also just... 

So that we aren’t constantly attacked by the slanderous devil, saying to us that we won’t be saved.

And the Holy Gospel is a proof of this fact as well, as we see that people often go to the Lord due to their external circumstances and external problems.
