- It is very sad to hear such questions. Why is it not possible to give alms to people of another faith? Do they not want to eat or do they have different living conditions? If you have such a question, then something is wrong with your Orthodoxy. I always grieve from such Orthodoxy, shy of it. I want to tell everyone who has not been given alms: "People, this is not Orthodoxy, this is something else." Without helping people of a different faith, we humiliate our religion, humiliate Christ, who is love. In the Gospel He was condemned by the Pharisees for eating and drinking with drunkards, with harlots, that he spoke with a Samaritan woman (the Samaritans were sectarians). It is sinful to praise someone else’s faith, because in doing so you humiliate your own, but you need to love a person of a different faith.
