St. Hieromartyr Raphael Šišatovački
St. Hieromartyr
Raphael Šišatovački was abbot of the monastery Šišatovac studied painting in
Russia in the late 19th century. He had painted many iconostasis, he has
exhibited his landscapes and was good portraitist. At the beginning of the war
1941st Ustashi arrested him along with the other monks and people, from Srem
and taken to the camp Slavonska Pozega. There he was beaten and abused, he died
in agony from the beatings. His tomb has not been found. St. Martyr Michael of
Prevlaka is one of 70 monks from the monastery Prevlaka on the island of St.
Archangel Michael in Tivat, which in mid-15th-century Venetians poisoned with
arsenic, and the Navy's cannon and by mining destroyed the monastery as a
bastion of Orthodox Christianity to the Adriatic Sea . The relics of these
martyrs are preserved and the pour forth myrrh.
