Being "everywhere and filling all things" obviously means that God can not be contained or encapsulated to abide in a specific structure. Yet just like He mandated His Chosen Ones to construct the Tabernacle in the wilderness, as well as the Temple in Jerusalem, God realizes that man - who is physical and spatial by nature - needs a "sacred space" in which to gather-together as the Church and focus upon common worship.
