Orthodox marriage....

One of my favorite prayers during the Orthodox marriage ceremony asks God to fill the newly married couple’s home with “wheat, wine, oil, and every good thing so that they may, in turn, give to those who are in need.” During this month in which we formally recognize our need to “give thanks,” let us heed the words of St. John Chrysostom who said, “It if a far greater miracle to feed the starving than it is to raise the dead.”
