“For the eyes
of the LORD are on the righteous, and His ears are open to their prayers.” (I
Peter 3:12)
“O Lord,
Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy upon me a sinner” (the Jesus Prayer) is perhaps
the simplest and best prayer for a person who desires to be spiritually “in
tune” with God can keep upon their lips and in our mind and heart throughout
the day, praying it often and with great regularity. However, one should fight
hard against saying this prayer mechanically or merely by rote and strive to
recite it in a meaningful way so that you can feel the living presence of God.
