When Scrooge tells Marley’s ghost that he was always good at business, the ghost responds with remorse by wringing his hands and saying, “Business! Mankind was my business. The common welfare was my business; charity, mercy, forbearance, and benevolence were all my business. The dealing of my trade were but a drop of water in the comprehensive ocean of my business!”
Therefore, let us not succumb to his fate, but be mindful that our “business” is to do the will and work of God through acts of love and kindness.
