Today we celebrate our Lord’s dedication in the Temple upon the fortieth day of His birth according to the Law of Moses. The fact that Mary and Joseph brought the Child to the temple is very instructive, for it reminds us of the importance of bringing our children to church.
We must never assume that our children will come to know God or make the right choices in life on their own. If we wish to see our children grow strong, wise, and become spiritually mature, we must take them by the hand and bring them to church, leading by example.
