“If I honor Myself, My honor is nothing.” (John 8:54)

Although we might think it seemingly elevating, self-glorification is meaningless. True honor comes from God, not from self-praise or self-assertion. And not only that, pride is a self-destructive sin, leading one away from God. As the adage states, “You can get into a lot of trouble blowing off esteem.”
