At every Liturgy, we eat the Body and Blood of our God - the glorious God, who at the same time has extremely humbled Himself for us.
And we are continuously calling His name in our hearts.
This glorious God tells us: “I want you to be where I am”
His will is of absolute power and at the same time, of such humility, that we are stricken by it.
He says: I want you to be where I am, in the bosom of the Holy Trinity.
He is inviting us inside the Divine Fire and at the same time He tells us: “I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice…” (Revelation 3:20)
He tells us that this is what He wants and at the same time, He is asking you whether you want this or not…
Do you understand how difficult it is intellectually - to understand Christianity?
The only way to overcome this problem within ourselves is our inner spiritual life, which is the Eucharistic life, the life of noetic prayer and the life of obedience to the will of God.
All three of these things need to be defined. Defining them requires the practice of spiritual life, wisdom, prudence and sacrifice, which is then followed, even in this world - by happiness, joy and the state of truly being human.
Archpriest Theodore Gignadze
Segment from a sermon on November 4, 2021
