"Once you were no people, but now you are God's people." (1st Peter 2:10)

In other words, once we were people who simply existed, but when God called us, chose us, He gave those who heard Him a common  theme, mission, and purpose. He gave us a ministry and a goal to strive for as His Own adopted heirs to receive the full ]recompense of His heritage because, being children of God we belong to God!
