At Tabor

"It is good for us to be here. If you wish, we will make three tents here" (Matthew 17:4).
At those moments when the Lord pours into our soul a living consciousness of His nearness, His mercy, His help and His infinite insignificance, when during fervent prayer or receiving the Holy Sacrament we feel as if we are above everything earthly and closer to the heavenly, we have the desire and need to remain in this mood forever. It seems to us that we should not return to earthly things.
But it is impossible to maintain such a wonderful mood for long. it would be too much happiness for our soul. And when life, with its inevitable embarrassments, temptations and quarrels, takes away and washes away this bright feeling, we should not be overly sad about it and even less to be irritated by this. The Lord will lead us again to Tabor, will send us His grace again when we need it most. And communication with people and earthly activities do not distance us from Him, as we sometimes think. On the contrary - here we must bring a share of heavenly things - putting into every action, into every relationship we have with people, that particle of prayerful disposition which elevates and purifies everything, without excluding even the most insignificant.
