The ruined monastery on St Kenneth's Isle (Inchkenneth). Mull Monastery of All Celtic Saints
The ruined
monastery on St Kenneth's Isle (Inchkenneth) was an incredible gift today. The
wild irises are in bloom, there was hardly any wind and - despite our clothing
(I always advise precaution!) - the weather was kind to us again.
St Kenneth is
one of St Columba's first companions to Iona. He eventually left the island and
the monastery to live a much more secluded and silent life on this drop of land
just off the coasts of Mull. Even today, close to fifteen centuries later,
one's heart perfectly sees how this tiny island would be an ideal place for a
soul thirsty to let go of everything and stand face to face with Christ. Alone with one's Creator.
