The theme of Christ’s Gospel was “Love,” but at its heart and soul are the verbs “Give” and “Forgive.” This is because giving and forgiving are both directly influenced by love. One cannot be truly charitable without love in ones’ heart, nor can anyone actually forgive others without the same. Certainly, one can “go through the motions” and outwardly appear to be generous and forgiving, but without true Christ-like love, it’s simply going through the motions.
