“Let him who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall.” (1st Cor. 10:12)

When it comes right down to it, most of us generally think we are doing right by God. We look and judge “others” as being worse, deeming them more sinful while counting ourselves righteous and worthy. But “judgment” is not ours to make, and such an overconfident attitude merely stems from pride, which is a great and power deceiver. 

Therefore, we need to “take heed,” meaning we must watch, be careful, and diligent lest we deceive ourselves in thinking we stand fast and firm in the Faith when in reality we are poised to fall.
