[God] has given us the ministry of reconciliation. (2nd Cor. 5:18)
Forgiveness is a divine attribute based upon love. Therefore, if we are going to teach our children and leave them anything of value, one of the most valuable things we can leave them by demonstration is how to forgive others.
No vengeance, no retaliation, not “get the best of,” but true, humble forgiveness. This is the only way in which a Christian can truly live free – by being forgiving. And there is joy in forgiveness.
