“Whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men.” (Col 3:23)

St. Paul reminds us that we are representatives of Jesus Christ to the world and that we should live, behave, and conduct ourselves as such. All we do should be done willingly, as though we were working for God and not for men.

Doing things “heartily” means to carry out or perform actions with enthusiasm, or with all your heart; willingly, sincerely, and ungrudgingly. For not only is our Heavenly Father watching us, but so too are many unbelievers. Thus, we need to set an example and show them the power of love by our actions and responses, just as our Lord and Savior set the standard for us.
