“Tell no one…” (Mark 8:30)
After many of His miracles Jesus instructed those present to not tell anyone about what happened. It might seem incongruent for our Lord to NOT want people to know of these miracles as they were potential “proofs” prophesying Him being the Messiah. Yet Christ realized that these miracles, and their publicity, might hinder or overshadow His gospel message. Thus, Jesus didn’t want these to divert attention from the real purpose of His ministry, which was suffer and die for our sins.
