Papa-Tychon
used to say: "Lord have mercy" has a hundred drachmas, "Glory be
to God" has a thousand drachmas; that is, it is much more expensive.
"He wanted to say that man asks for God's mercy out of necessity, while
praising him God is more honorable, and that has greater value, he even
recommended saying "glory be to God", not only when we are well, but
also when we are going through trials, because trials are allowed by God for
medicines of the soul.
"Glory
be to God" should never be missing from your lips.
I,
when I am in pain, have "glory to you God" as a pill of pain; nothing
else catches me.
"Glory
be to God" is superior to "Lord Jesus Christ, have mercy on me".
