The Greek Orthodox monastic monastery of Karoulia – located in the most remote part of Mount Athos. And even here, the monks are praying for an end to the war in eastern Ukraine.
They have lived in the sacred caves for several centuries – living off rain water and vegetation.
There are no roads here – the only way to reach the settlements through the rocky and dry landscape is via a ferry and long climb up the rock face. It's not an easy feat if you're afraid of heights.
