Feast of Sts. Peter and Paul
Today we remember two very prominent saints of the Church: The Apostles Peter and Paul. They both helped guide the Early Church in its infancy and were also martyred for their faith – approximately 30 years after Christ’s Passion, Death, and Resurrection. Thus, they are often referred to as the “Two Pillars of the Christian Faith.” In fact, in many icons it shows Peter and Paul both holding up a tiny church in recognition of this fact.
Each of these men had strong personalities, and God called upon them to use those personalities to teach and spread His gospel. Therefore, we should be inspired upon this feast to utilize our own God-given strengths for the glory of God. Striving towards sainthood through our faith, actions, and love for God.
