“Let us not love in word or tongue but in deed and in truth.” (1st John 3:19)
The Apostle John, writer of the Gospel, three epistles, and the Book of Revelation (Apocalypse), is fondly referred to as a “disciple of love” as vast portions of his writing is dedicated to that subject.
In the above verse John encourages us to sincerely live love, and not just pay lip-service to it; to demonstrate the authentic quality of genuine love by our actions, sacrificing to meet the needs of others. It is not enough to merely proclaim or profess Christ-like love, we must prove it by our deeds as did our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
