THESE PRAYERS ARE SAID USING THE THIRTY KNOT PRAYER ROPE

In the morning and at night remove the prayer rope from your hand and say with each knot the following prayers.

1.      We pray Lord for the peace of the world.

2.      Lord Jesus Christ have mercy on our Church and it’s faithful.

3.      Lord Jesus Christ have mercy on our Bishop and his attendants.

4.      Lord Jesus Christ have mercy on all Orthodox priests and laymen.

5.      Lord Jesus Christ have mercy on our Spiritual Father and his attendants.

6.      Lord Jesus Christ have mercy on our armed forces and all the defense establishment.

7.      Lord Jesus Christ have mercy on the leaders of our country.

8.      Lord Jesus Christ have mercy on those who hate us and those who love us and pray for us.

9.      Lord Jesus Christ have mercy on our parents, our God-parents

10.                    Lord Jesus Christ have mercy on those who are related to us physically and spiritually.

11.                    Lord Jesus Christ have mercy on the elderly and those living alone.

12.                    Lord Jesus Christ have mercy on the children, the unprotected and the weak.

13.             Lord Jesus Christ have mercy on our young school children.

14.                    Lord Jesus Christ have mercy on our young men and women.

15.     Lord Jesus Christ have mercy on drug addicts, alcoholics and smokers.

16.     Lord Jesus Christ have mercy on our Orthodox married couples.

17.     Lord Jesus Christ have mercy on our pregnant sisters.

18.     Lord Jesus Christ have mercy on the widows and orphans.

19.     Lord Jesus Christ have mercy on our estranged couples and our afflicted brothers and sisters.

20.     Lord Jesus Christ have mercy on those who are sick in body and soul.

21.     Lord Jesus Christ have mercy on those who assist our Monasteries and Parishes and work in them.

22.     Lord Jesus Christ have mercy on the faithful pilgrims that visit our Holy Monasteries and Churches. 

23.     Lord Jesus Christ have mercy on those who travel by land, sea or air and those who are imprisoned and are disheartened. 

24.     Lord Jesus Christ have mercy on our brothers and sisters who are grieving and afflicted.

25.     Lord Jesus Christ have mercy on our judges and our politicians.

26.     Lord Jesus Christ have mercy on those who have been led astray and blaspheme our Orthodox Faith.

27.     Lord Jesus Christ have mercy on us and grant us peace.

28.     Lord Jesus Christ protect us from sickness, rage, danger and enlighten our doctors and nurses.

29.     Lord Jesus Christ protect us from famine, want and hardships.

30.     Lord Jesus Christ protect from us heat, fire and earthquake.

31.     Lord Jesus Christ protect us from cataclysms, floods and freezing. 

32.     Lord Jesus Christ grant eternal rest to the souls of our departed fathers, mothers, brothers, sisters, relatives, grandparents and great grandparents.

33.     Lord Jesus Christ have mercy upon me a sinner.

At this point we are to make a genuflection while we make the sign of the Cross.  Saint Paul the Apostle admonishes us in his First Letter to the Thessalonians: “Pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus.” (1 Thess. 5:17-18).
