“For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil.” (1st Timothy 6:10)
This verse is often misquoted as, “money is the root of all evil,” which is not the case. Sin is the root of all evil in the world. However, love of money, not money itself, can be the catalyst for many forms of trouble and evil; a means of leading us down the wrong paths of life. Wealth (money and possessions) is not inherently bad, nor is it necessarily a problem, but when greed begins to take over and control our lives, that’s when the trouble starts.
