Today we commemorate the 14,000 Holy Innocents

When Herod learned from the Magi that a child had been born who would grow up to challenge his kingship, his paranoia grew into anger which caused him to act irrationally, ordering his soldiers to kill every male child two years and under within that region in the attempt to destroy this New-Born King. This is yet another reminder to keep our anger in check; for anger is one letter shy of “danger.”
