In the Beatitudes,

In the Beatitudes, Christ taught that we must be "poor of spirit," meaning we must have humility, be humble, devoid of arrogance and pride. In effect, we must keep in mind at we owe God everything, and yet can give him nothing. That God owes us nothing, and yet He has given us everything.
