One day, a lady from Athens, a pharmacist by profession, came to our monastery on a pilgrimage.

"One day, a lady from Athens, a pharmacist by profession, came to our monastery on a pilgrimage. At the door of the catholicon of our monastery, she met Fr. Bessarion, an Agathonite, whose appearance, simplicity and kindness captivated her and, although she had never been to confession, she asked the Elder to hear her confession. After the confession, the lady left the temple and left to go to the bus to meet her other companions.  As soon as she left the monastery and began to walk up the hill to the square, where the bus was located, she felt a sudden unwellness and almost immediately passed away, apparently due to a heart problem. Her death upset the pilgrims, who also announced it to Elder Bessarion. Fr. Bessarion immediately took his petracheli and censer and went there and read the Trisagion to her. I accompanied him.  When the Trisagion was over, he said to me:

This woman, my child, went halfway to Paradise" .
