In Umberto Eco’s essay entitled, Role of the Reader, he believes that the text of a book remains unfinished and “open” until it is read; it is the reader, not the writer, who completes the text. The writer’s work is never finished until it meets a voracious, engaged reader.
This means that we can never truly become who we are meant to be until we read and follow what Scripture teaches.
