Today we commemorate St. Spyridon .

Today we commemorate St. Spyridon who, like St. Nicholas was one of the bishop's attending the First Ecumenical Council in Nicaea in 325 A.D. where the Creed was formulated.

St. Spyridon also helped define the nature of the Holy Trinity and put down the Arian Controversy by using a brick as an example. He likened the theology of "One God in Three Persons" to a brick that is comprised of three elements: clay, water, and fire - something portrayed in many of his icons.
