Prayer is a content battle, a struggle. This is why “atmosphere” or ambiance is so vital in Christian worship. It should be beyond the normal so as to affect our nature and facilitate our movement into a “spiritual realm” to encourage well-defined prayer and worship. This is why Orthodox Christian worship and liturgical life is multi-sensory.
