“For you have the poor with you always, and whenever you wish you may do them good…” (Mark 14:7)
It is astounding to realize that although we, in this country, live relatively comfortable lives, over 800 million people live in poverty – undernourished and malnourished.
Part of our responsibility as Christians is “to love those around us,” which means we should empathize with the plight of others and try to offer help: First with compassion, then with action, and finally with hope.
Keep in mind that to serve the Lord entails serving others!
